I just tried some a few weeks ago and I was pleased with how the quilt turned out, but next time I may try making mine a little thinner like yours. I'm starting to work more on my frame. I've had it for awhile, but I have a hard time getting myself to use it. I'm learning as I go along. When I did mine I didn't worry too much about that as I was concentrating on getting nice shaped feathers that flowed from one another.
