Quilting Progress, Chocolate? Toffee?

No, just the back of Brent's quilt.
I'm still stabilizing it so I can fill it with the kind of colliding feathers I practiced on Sanctuary II. And while it isn't a donation quilt, it's still a prayer quilt with many prayers for Brent.

I got sidetracked with some carpet cleaning. Oh, how I wish I could replace the carpet in this house!  I'd love to have hardwood, but I have to admit that I'm still leaning toward laminate due to the nature of the winds, dust, and dirt where we live.

For me and my personal activities, this Independence Day is going to be my personal celebration of a day with *no* therapy appointments!  The car may not leave the drive--although I do probably need to go get drinking water and check the mail at the post-office.  I received a generous invitation and turned it down so I can stay home.  It's a beautiful, peaceful morning without wind so far--undoubtedly a great contrast to the 4 to 6 hours of fireworks we'll hear tonight.  (My daughter reminded me that I can use earplugs!)  While most of the state is in the midst of an aerial fireworks ban, our county brings in a lot of tax money from the fireworks manufacturing and sales that take place here, so there will be plenty of fireworks--we usually spend a couple of hours in our driveway watching fireworks in every direction.  Until then, I'm going to savor being home and doing things I want to do.

Will share my progress via linky parties, and hope you can follow some links to what other quiltmakers are sharing.

I love these parties:

Happy quiltmaking!

Have a safe 4th. In my state, the governor has banned all fires: fire pits, fireworks, tiki torches, charcoal grills. No burning. But then, we have had so many wild fires and homes burned in the state (500+ houses) that it is very real. I have never liked fireworks so this, to me, is a blessing in disguise.

Looking great Dora :) I've got Macy's fireworks right outside my window but it's my first year here so I'm really excited!

Gosh those colours in your quilt are gorgeous, so warm and inviting to snuggle under. Happy quilting. Cheers Glenda
